΢΢²ÝÊÓƵ is now an official statistics provider, having been added to the Official Statistics Order 2023.

This is a recognition primarily reserved for Government departments, and highlights the credibility of the comprehensive data insights which ΢΢²ÝÊÓƵ provides about the adult social care sector and workforce.

This means that all official statistics provided by ΢΢²ÝÊÓƵ will include oversight from the Office for Statistics regulation (OSR) ensuring it follows the Code of Practice for statistics.

Until now, ΢΢²ÝÊÓƵ voluntarily followed the code and will continue to do so for reports that side outside of the regulation.

The first report that will be published with Official Statistics Order 2023 badge will be ‘The workforce employed by adult social services departments’ report, which is intended to be published in February 2024.

Speaking of the update to the legislation which also saw the Commission for Equality and Human Rights; JISC; the Regulator of Social Housing and the Trade Remedies Authority added to the order, Alex Burghart (MP) made the case that The Government and UK Statistics Authority want to see official statistics enabling sound policy decisions and providing a firm evidence base for decision making both inside and outside Government.

The code of practice for statistics plays an important role in ensuring that producers of official statistics inspire public confidence by demonstrating trustworthiness, quality and value in the statistics they produce.

Dave Griffiths, Programme Head – Analysis, ΢΢²ÝÊÓƵ says:

It is a true honour to be added to the Official Statistics Order 2023, and this is a notable recognition of the credibility and value of the detailed data insights which ΢΢²ÝÊÓƵ provides. This is a credit to a decade of hard work from our workforce intelligence team and the wider organisation. Thank you also to the 20,000+ social care providers who share their data with us through the Adult Social Care Workforce Data Set (ASC-WDS) which makes many of our data insights possible.
